Why is it that the higher power always seems to chose my life to mess around with? Artemis thought, leaning against the outside entrance to the Gryffindor changing room.
I find myself with a dream of an exchange student program, and then the next I know I'm the owner of a book shop in Hogsmeade.
Blinking herself out of her daze she looks away from the rain covered quidditch field and down at her hands, her fingers mercilessly chipping away at the lime green polish.
I actually take time off from my shop to come down here and pop in a visit for my cousin's quidditch game, that I have a tradition of not attending, and I come to find the whole field empty, not a sign of my ignorant, prideful, gutless, mop-head of a cousin in sight. Not to mention Gwen had a bloody meeting with the other professors at that magic school, so now I have an empty weekend.
Groaning, and mumbling about all her troubles her wondering eyes manage to catch site of the double doors beside her.
Slightly open double doors.
A mischievous grin slid onto her face, a wicked idea sweeping her thoughts.
Denying and shoving away all the wrongs and consequences that might come about, she turns, impishly slipping into the Gryffindor changing room.
Closing the metal door behind her, the long hallway plummets into darkness, only causing her heart to pump more excitement and an adventurous desire of wild fun to sweep through her blue veins.
Deciding to leave the girls alone she turns down the hallway leading into the boys half of the changing room.
I wonder how many quidditch boys are preparing for a practice game She thought anxiously Maybe I'll be lucky enough to find Christian and his crew. Oh this is going to be tons of fun.
At least 3 or 4 ideas of Artemis level pranks consumed her head, giving her a hunger of excitement her weekend might've otherwise been denied.
Tiptoeing along the dark hallway, a dull light made its way into view. And what gave her the ultimate grin of prankful pride was the snickering and muffled bickering leaking from the locker room.
Her hand slowly, and slyly, made its way to grab hold of the wand making a home in her old Hogwarts cloak pocket, the enchantment readied in her head just waiting to admit its freedom through her lips and onto the boys feet.[/color]

Sirius had joined in Quidditch practice with few of his friends who were in the team. He himself wasn't in it, but after much persuasion from the guys he gave in, not enjoying the idea of playing in the cold, bitter winter. While they discussed the upcoming game season, he set down a gym bag on the bench.
He bent down to reach his Quidditch robes, which had been specifically made for him; black and red, with the silver letters spelling, 'Sirius', on the back.
Just as he reached the hem of his t-shirt to pull it off, a chilly breeze swept his feet. Deciding that it must've been a breeze entering the room through an unclosed door, he shrugged and pulled of his shirt, revealing his bare chest.
He grabbed his Quidditch robe (which had a special t-shirt designed to squash the sweaty stench after a day's play) and was about to slip it on.
Was about.
Before he slid his left arm into the black sleeve, a force pulled him off his feet, and his face slammed into the floor. He sat up, holding his forehead (which was unfortunate to have landed first), and grabbed his wand.
Looking around he saw that all the boys had been knocked off their feet, all of them groaning and moaning in pain, but none injured seriously.
"Who's there?" He demanded, getting to his feet.
Looking towards the door, he found it to not be completely shut. Glaring suspisciously at it, in his half-worn Quidditch robe he yanked it open.

After the wave of her wand, she stood close by awaiting the reactions to her little spell.
The thumps, and moans reached her ears, and she almost blew her cover by laughing.
Covering her mouth with her nads(tyring to muffle the laughter), she had started to turn and walk away when she heard, “Who’s there?” It was a strong, and had a dark hint to it.
Her heart gave the jolt to stay and linger, but her mind screamed “GET OUT!”
Of course her heart had no time to battle with her sane thoughts, because the door in front of her jerked open.
Caught off guard, her eyes widened, and she stumbled backwards.
Her heel catching hold of a crack in the ground caused her to swiftly fall backwards.
Her hands instinctively flew behind her to catch her fall, only to have her wand be thrown into the darkness behind her.
Landing with a hard thump on the stone floor, a jolt of pain shot up her arms, the pain though only lasted a moment.
She brought her arms forward, taking a moment to rub her elbows and forearm to rejuvenate the blood flow and to stop the tingling.
A glare painted her face as she came to realize that she had fractured her wrist.
Cradling her wrist she brought her head up sharply to scold the culprit who caused this dilemma, “You bloody little-” She hissed, withholding very little anger. Hoping to pierce fright into the heart of the criminal, her eyes met the bare chest of a most delectable young man.
Strong defined abs, muscle tone definitely not absent. The dark black and red accenting his light tan chest, giving him the darkness and mystery that filled her heart with powerful excitement.
No words came to mind, her threats and comebacks leaving her wide open for an attack she so fully deserved.

Sirius stared at the figure behind the door, as she stumbled, fell backwards, and sat straight, cradling her wrist.
Sirius' first reaction was to raise his eyebrows. Was he really that frightening? Or was she just surprised? Shrugging the thought off, he suppressed a laugh.
"You bloody little--" She began, but never quite finished her sentence.
His eyes brows raised again, noticing that she was staring. "What?" He asked. Looking down at his body, he found that he had quite forgotten he was half-dressed. "Oh! Dammit." He muttered, quickly turning around and properly dressing, zipping up his cloak.
Finished, he turned back around to face her, as if nothing had happened. "What were you doing?" He asked, a tone suggesting that he would get an answer, or they'll be blood to pay.
He noticed that her wrist seemed to be fractured by the way she held it, and dropped his poisonous tone. Sighing, wondering why he just had to be such a ladies' man, he crouched down to her level.
"Are you OK?" He asked.

Guinevere felt a shotting pain through her wrist. She gasped as she realized what happened. "Artemis," She groaned. AShe stood up and let her feet take her. "Stupid bloody twins," She mumbled as she found herself stopping in front of the locker rooms at the quidditch field. She pushed open the door and strode in. "Art? Where are you?" She called. She noticed her twin sister sitting on the ground cradling her wrist. She knelt down beside her sister and took her wrist in her hand. "Factured," She muttered. She sighed and looked up, noticing one of her students knelt down on the other side of Artemis. "Hello Sirius, I guess you've met my twin sister?" She asked, smiling at him.

Sirius looked up at the sounds of footsteps and worried calls coming from the other end of the hallway. Professor Guinevere's figure came into view, rushing towards the girl, which Sirius learned was the professor's twin sister.
He blinked, but then smiled. "Er--Yeah, I guess." He shrugged, stowing his wand away hastily.
He was still curious to know why the professor's sister had pulled a trick on the boys, but decided to persue the matter later on; healing the fractured bone was more important now.
"What are we going to do? I don't know any healing nor bandaging spells." Sirius said to the professor. "Should I take her to the hospital wing?" He asked.

This is perfect, I was caught during one of my pranks. I might just listen to my sanity next time and run for it. Bloody wrist, and all because that guy had to be so dang…
Mentally slapping herself she looked up at the guy and snapped, "Heck no, I don't need to go to the hospital wing, I can take care of myself." She pushed away from her sister and the guy, apparently claiming the name of Sirius, and pulled herself up onto her feet.
Looking down at the both of them she had the instinct to just turn and walk away, but something in her just couldn't do it.
And before she knew it the sane 3% of her heart spoke through her lips, "Thank you for trying to help."
Gasping inside, her eyes widened slightly in shock, but she quickly hid it.
For heaven sakes Artemis tell the boy your name, Came a voice inside her head.
Sighing, she didn't much want to argue with the Voice, and she stretched down her good hand towards Sirius, "The name's Artemis, most just call me Arty." Just looking at him made her instinct of isolationism cowar and hide. She wanted to gain his friendship, although…she wasn't sure why.

"Heck no, I don't need to go to the hospital wing, I can take care of myself"
Sirius mentally smiled at her stubborness. He shook his head as she stood up, well away from Professor Gwen & him, and straightened up as well. He brushed off his Quidditch robes, making sure they hadn't gotten stained with the dust on the floor.
No one had uttered a word.
He shrugged, and stuffed his hands in his pocket, standing quietly, wondering whether he should go back in, or stay with the professor to make sure the girl was fine. He chose the latter.
"Thank you for trying to help" She said, although it looked as if she had done it half-heartedly.
He shrugged again. "S'okay." He mumbled.
The girl stretched out her hand and introduced herself, much to Sirius' surprise. He raised an eyebrow and suppressed a chuckle. So she pranks us, injures herself, pushes away with a thanks, and introduces herself? She's quite the eccentric kind,[/b] he thought, quite amused.
He took her hand with a smile and a slight bow. "I'm Sirius. Sirius Black." He said.

He seemed to hesitate, before reaching out and grasping hold of her hand. And giving the touch of a small bow he introduced himself, "I'm Sirius. Sirius Black."
With eyebrows raised in slight surprise, she smiled, "Black you say?" Quite amused she quickly shook his hand, and then released it, placing it on her hip instead, "Name sounds familiar," Squinting her eyes slightly she looks him up and down, and then walks around him, having a gut feeling she knew him from somewhere.
Finally making it back to his front she questioned, "Have I pranked you before?" But the thought became ridiculous as she realized she wouldn't've acted in such a way if she had. She had a knack for remembering everyone she met, "No of course not," She laughed quietly, "I would've remembered pranking a guy like you."
Deciding now was the time to leave she looked over at her sister, 'Quite an interesting guy Professor. I might have to come and visit this place more often' Thinking loud enough for her sister to hear her thoughts.
Looking back at Sirius she wiped away the original grudge, her wrist becoming a null 'n void factor, she smiled, "See ya around."
And with that she turned on her heel, after giving him a wink, and headed down the dark hall. Bending over at just the right moment she grasped hold of her wand and stashed it away in her cloak pocket, 'I'll mend my wrist outside.'
On a sudden whim, a crazy thought entering her head, she turned around, now walking backwards and she shouted with a grin, "Nice Abs."
She didn't wait to see his face, or her sisters, she turned back around, not bothering to suppress her laughter. She had to end all of this having the upper-hand. She felt trampled and crushed to realize she had tripped and got struck by a good looking guy.
No showing weakness, to anybody. That was her motto.
Ok, she admitted it, her mood swung, and quite sharply. But she just adored toying with people. It was an adventure.
Meeting the double doors she walked outside, shutting it behind her.
The rain had started to pour, and thunder roared, filling the dark field.
Suddenly a sharp pain shot through her skull. With a swift movement she grasped hold of her head with both hands, her eyes clenching shut, she heard a dark cackle arise in her thoughts, Nice Boy Artemis.
"Leave me alone you prick," She hissed, trying to force him out.
He only laughed at her pain, "Come on home Artemis, I sent you a present…and please don't hesitate, you know what happened last time."
She felt her mind go free and the splitting pain subside. Her knees wanting to give out, she quickly leaned against the outside wall for support. Closing her eyes she took a few deep calming breaths.
After a few moments she opened her eyes, "Great, another day, another prank, another threat."
"What did I do this time? Stupid git!" She thought, tiredly.

Guinevere watched the exchange between her sister and her student with an amused smile. Once her sister had left she turned to Sirius. "So, now you've met Artemis, she likes to be her own person, she was in Ravenclaw when she was at Hogwarts, but I was in Gryffindor, with out cousin Chris. Maybe you knew him? He was...well...what year are you in? I forgot, sorry," Guinvere said with a sheepish smile. Before he could answer, she had dropped to her knees, with both hands clamped on her head. "Artemis" She gasped. She tried to stand but lost her balanced and grabbed Sirius' shoulder for support.

Sirius raised his eyebrows as Artemis talked out loud, more to herself than anything. The more he lingered around her the more he found her to be amusing. Shaking himself at his own thoughts, he suppressed a small laugh.
"See ya around." She said.
Sirius looked up from his thoughts, and looked at Artemis' retreating figure. He glanced at the professor and shrugged, an amused expression on his face.
He looked back down the hallways and saw Artemis walking backwards, headed for the double doors.
"Nice abs!" She had shouted.
Sirius, far from being embarrassed, snorted and gave a loud, bark-like laugh. He cleared his throat, and grinned at the professor.
""So, now you've met Artemis, she likes to be her own person, she was in Ravenclaw when she was at Hogwarts, but I was in Gryffindor, with out cousin Chris. Maybe you knew him? He was...well...what year are you in? I forgot, sorry." She smiled, sheepishly.
Sirius chuckled. "I'm in fifth--Are you alright?" He asked, as the professor leaned on his shoulder for support.
She seemed to have gasped out Artemis' name, but Sirius had been distracted with answering her questions. "Are you OK? Should I go get the nurse?" He asked.

Guinevere screamed from the sudden pain that had surged through her head. SHe mananged to somehow shake her head. She pointed shakily as she fell to her knees. The pain stopped, and now she was just shaking. "Go get Artemis," She told him. She was worried about what had happened to her sister. She leaned against the wall and breathed in and out, calming herself down.

Sirius felt panicky now that the prof. had screamed in pain. He crouched down and held her shoulders as she fell to the floor.
"Go get Artemis." She said.
Sirius was torn in between heeding her orders and helping her. He chose to do both. He watched as she leaned on the wall, breathing deeply.
"Can you walk?" He asked. He shook his head. "Forget it." He muttered, and turned his back to her. "Get on my back, I'll get you to your sister." He said.

Her body trembling, she forced herself to start walking across the quidditch field.
Grumbling and hissing under her breath she tried not to panick as she thought of why he had contacted her. I thought i had gotten rid of you, She tought hastily, I did everything you asked. Images of her past experience with the dark snake raked her mind.
Her body shivering, not because of of the pouring rain numbing her body, but because of the flash back of pain he had last brought upon her. I've been free of him for 13 bloody months, why contact me now? Thinking of all the horrible acts and curses she had to perform all those months ago. Thinking about the feeling of being weak, helpless, and in somebody elses command terrified her.
Turning her head, she glanced nervously back at the double doors, thinking about asking for help. Maybe she actually should take the help she was certain her twin would offer.
Her heart froze, and her body stiffened(all though she continued to walk), "No, cause that would mean telling her about before...about him..." She whispered weakly to herself.
About him...telling her all the things she did...her past...under his control for half of it, but she had been in such a dark, rebelious state all those months ago when Peter died that she took the first chance of escaping the heart shattering pain.
She had loved Peter. They were engaged, and she had come home to their apartment to find the walls and bed covered in blood...his blood...and his body lying sprawled out on the floor.
Tears dared to fog up her eyes, and desperate, she fiercely wiped them away, "No, no crying. I'm not weak." She growled.
She had taken his hand, the first road away from all the pain. He offered her peace, no more pain, no more suffering. It would dissapear, but only if she served him.
And she had agreed.
Months later after a certain assignment, well...it had shaken her up so badly she realized everything she had been doing was wrong. It was evil.
And she wasn't evil...or...she didn't want to be.
She had tried to escape him, tried to run away from him, only...she was caught.
And then all free will was forcefully taken away from her.
She had managed to finally escape him one night, she broke free from the curse upon her, and(killing and injuring many death eaters in the process) she escaped.
She freed herself from him.
She started the shop in hogsmeade, connected to her cousins.
She re-joined the life of her family, telling them all those months she had been traveling throughout the world, trying not to use magic. Telling them she was testing a theory, an experiment.
And it drew all the questions away.
But today suddenly he's back.
How he actually found her remained a mystery to her, but she knew better then to defy him.
She walked to the boarders of the Forbidden Forest, and glancing back to see if anybody was watching, she heald her breath.
The rain was pouring so hard that any sight of a figure or object was fogged. The thunder roaring so loud nothing could be heard.
She released the trapped breath, and then turning her head forward she thought strongly about being in the Twilight Mediator.
A swift, strong movement, threw her off balance, and she found herself thrown foward onto the carpeted ground of her shop.
Trying to push herself up, she winced at the shock still in her wrist. Only then she froze, a pair of dark dingy black boots right under her nose.
She slowly looked up, and forced on a smirk, secretly terrified inside, but she wouldn't show him any more weakness.
"What's up prick?" She spat, smirk implanted on her face.
Only to be wiped away at the shattering sharp pain that serged her skull.
"Don't talk back to me Artemis. It will only make everything worse...for you," He cackled adding the last part.
The pain subsiding, she was panting very hard, her body shaking, "I'm not the same weak Artemis you enslaved," Glaring up at him she tried to sound strong, "I've changed."
He didn't seem shaken at all, he only grinned, crouching down to her level he looked her in the eye, "Good, its been expected. Because i have a job for you."
Spitting in his face, she then added, "Bite me."
Wiping the saliva from his cheek, he scowled, "I was hoping you would comply...looks like force may be necessary." He caressed her cheek with the back of his index finger, making the hair on the back of her neck stand up on end, he then leaned down, his venomous breath warm on her neck, "I want you back on my side Artemis. I want you to come willingly." His finger suddenly slashed across her cheek, blood drizzling down, "And i always get what i want." He hissed, before dissapearing from her sight.
Her eyes widened in terror, "H-he...h-he..." She couldn't believe that he actually, physically harmed her.
Before it was only curses and spells, but he wasn't afraid to physically scar her.
After a few more minutes she forced herself up onto her feet, she trembling at the knees, barely making it to her bedroom, before she collapsed. She crawled over to the foot of her bed, and pulled herself up, her back leaning against the wood.
Out of everything that had just happened to her, out of all the threats and pain he caused her, only one thought crossed her mind, "This is my fight, my fight alone. I can't tell anybody." Thinking of her sister, and her cousin she thought strongly, "Not anybody..." Muttering aloud.

Guinevere tried to shake her head and stand, but gave up trying to walk, and got on Sirius' back. "Go to her shop," She said, "This is bad," She mumbled, getting really worried.
