Silence is always golden. Such a true statement that was indeed! No matter what the situation may be.. For example.. In libraries you needed quiet to study, and when at a meeting of some sort, and you were a smaller rank than others... Voicing your opinion on something might just wipe you away from your place entirely! Even in some cases when you were higher.. Your opinion might not mean jack anyway! It's not like people actually enjoyed changing their mind after something was made.. But anyway.. In Bellatrix's case, she couldn't help but dwell on this quote so often today.. More than she ever had before.
For once, she was being a calm, subtle being, and actually keeping to herself for the most part. Usually, she would have made a scene with someone by then.. But, no! Not today.. Perhaps it was just her mood, or the feeling of the day! Whatever it was.. It was a moment that should have gone down in history. Because, for once, she just wanted to be alone and to herself.. Don't ask why. She'd probably slit your throat even if you did even mention the fact that she hadn't pushed someone in the lake itself so far.. But, it's best not to think upon such things so much.
Bellatrix stepped lightly upon the grass that crumbled beneath her feet ever so politely. And she had to admit.. Today had been going quite alright! No Narcissa to whine to her, no Andromeda to bug her, no Sirius to complain to her, no Rodolphus to attempt in 'wooing' her [in some of her friend's words--they called it--], no true annoyances.. so far anyway. And she hoped to keep it that way. But, she knew all too well that good things never lasted a lifetime.. Nor did they last any good amount of time either.. And it was just a matter of time before someone took the decision to interrupt her little walk.

Lonliness was... No, being alone was... What was it? Whatever it was, Rodophus was quite alone in the castle. Strange, as usually he would have run into someone by now. A slytherin hopefully, more leaning towards Bellatrix. He let out a low breath. Bellatrix Black. Bella. Mmm... She was... well... he had to admit she was beautiful. But he wasn't.. well... why was.. why did she seem to avoid him at all costs? Seriously. It seemed that way. He couldn't understand it, and yet, he couldn't stop thinking about it.
He knew what his father had said before. He frowned as he pushed the door to go outside roughly. He grumbled something under his breath. Love was stupid. Don't fall for it It went on and on with his father. Ya. He was a damn slytherin. To the bone. And Love? Hm. He shrugged. What did it matter? He hated to think his father was actually right in things. But then... was he even right? The man could be wrong. It was impossible to be..well.. it was impossible to be perfect all the time. Of course. He could be mistaken. Ya, Rod. Keep telling yourself that.
But what did it matter? Just as he shrugged the thought away, his eyes scanned the grounds, finding them land on a farmiliar figure. As he walked closer, he smiled to himself. Very farmiliar, and freaky perhaps how he had just been thinking... well.. thinking about her. "Bella..trix." He said in a bit more of a louder voice, to get her to turn around, slow down or something. He picked up his pace a bit to come alongside her. "I haven't seen you in awhile. How have you been?" He said. Standard enough conversation perhaps. But it seemed immediatly as he said it, he had this strange feeling in his stomach.

Bellatrix walked along, just about ready to begin a countdown in her head for someone to yell out her name. A stupid thing to do perhaps.. But, ironically it usually seemed to be just on time, otherwise, it would just be completely off. But, she didn't care. She'd countdown anyway, just to see if she could be correct one more time. '5..4..3..2..1....' But, no audible voice was heard just then. 'Ok, we'll just try that one again.. 5..4.. Damn! It was then when she heard his voice. An all to recognizable voice that sometimes seemed to haunt her dreams.
Rodolphus, a boy who seemed to be too 'into' Bellatrix, was not exactly what she would've hoped for to be calling her. But, who else could she expect? When he was always tailing after her in some sort and fashion. Did he really think that she would give in to him, and just fall into his arms, like that?! Sure, he was handsome and all.. But.. Honestly! He definitely needed sense.. However, he was a stubborn one.. And nothing Bella had said yet had gotten him to back off. Maybe it was all just a game.. Just to try and knock her off her 'throne' people called it, or whatever. Whatever it was.. It wasn't working.. At all. And it was most definitely annoying to her.
"Lestrange," Bellatrix spoke, in return to allow him to know that she was aware of his presence. Not that she wanted it.. She didn't switch her gaze, but she did increase her pace just a bit, in hope to lose him behind. Of course, that never worked, she was much smaller than he, and he could probably easily out run her much more than she thought, but who said she couldn't try? "I've been just fine, thanks," She answered sharply, still not taking a glance at him. Though it was very tempting.. She refused to give in to it.

She hadn't glanced at him yet, though her voice told him she knew he was there. Though, Rodolphus seemed not even to notice that small fact, he was just so oblivious. Wierd. He made a little more effort to keep up, he did happen to notice she quickened her pace. Was she really avoiding him? That thought wasn't really in his inner thoughts. What he was thinking at the moment, was what he would say? Now that they had run into each other.
It was wierd, questioning perhaps to think how a girl, any girl, could make him feel ...well, so... different. So... speechless? No. That wasn't the word he was looking for. But it might be good enough. His eyes seemed never to leave her face, though he did look ahead so he wouldn't trip and embarrass himself. He had a habit sometimes of doing that. Wierd, how that happened. Someone who didn't embarrass easily -- okay, so he usually cursed the suckers out of whoever was around.
Usually, he would cringe at the sound of his last name, spoken usually from a non house mate, or a professor. But he couldn't help but smirk lightly as she spoke it. It sounded so... He shook his head. Things were indeed getting to him. It was all foolish. Damn. He had to just.. well... pull himself straight. He was a Lestrange, damn it. He knew what he wanted. And he was a slytherin. True to the bone.
"Well, that's good to hear." He said, still oblivious to the fact that she had not only replied fairly sharply, but had yet to really look at him. "I' ve been not bad myself. Same old... though never gets tiring. Not yet anyway."

Hearing his voice again, only pushed her to think that he was acting like a lost puppy. Well, she wasn't his mum.. And he shouldn't be trailing after her still. He really did need to move on.. Hell, after a while if he didn't bother her, she'd have to say that it might scare her to a limit. Then again, it wouldn't be a true fright, it would probably mean something was wrong with him. ..There was already something wrong with him, just by going by the fact that he was trying to get her.
And once he just continued to speak, she stopped abruptly, and turned to face him for the first time in a long time. "What do you want Rodolphus?" She said, tilting her head slightly, "And don't you even dare start in on how you want me.. Or something stupid like that.. For it's getting you no where, in case you haven't noticed." Indeed it wasn't just then. There was only one true way that he could make her like him back.. And by the way he normally acted.. He was obviously clueless on that subject.
She stood there, waiting impatiently for his response. She had places to go and no other people to have annoy her.. Actually she didn't really have 'places' to go.. It was just the Forbidden Forest or someplace like that. Nothing really special.. But the thought of it, only made her want to go even sooner. "Come on Lestrange.. You were oh so talkative before," She said, urging him on a bit along with a few gestures as if to hurry him even faster than she wished. Of course, Rodolphus was one who never truly was rushed before, and Bella normally didn't make any difference. Though, it was probably for the mere fact that he probably did it on purpose, as if he thought that she would linger around him longer...

Rodolpus was pretty much speechless as she spoke. Not only that, he was a bit surprised to find her stopping and facing him. He had to hold back the smile that was wanting to appear on his face as he saw her face, more directly. She looked ever more pretty... He shook his head. Damn it Rod. What the hell has gotten into you? But that thought was far from his mind. He was thinking about what she had said to him. What did he want? He had nearly been about to speak that he just wanted her.. to go out again. Or something like that anyway, when she seemed to just simply read his mind.
Was he being that obvious? In whatever case he was quite surprised, baffled perhaps on what to say. To him, he just appeared to be looking at her, at her eyes perhaps. But he wasn't really seeing anything. What else.. or what else should he say? What did he want... apart from Bella to notice him? He let out a quiet shy as he thought about that. Why wouldn't see just.. well.. notice him. Shit. He hated this. He could already hear his father's voice in his head. Saying something about love was foolish. A weakness. Shit, he hated his father for that. If it was one thing, Rod was not weak. He would prove it to everyone, damn it. Especially Bella...
His thoughts were broken by her remark once more. He might of frowned a little, but it was well disguised (he hoped) by a slight smirk. You were so talkative before... Hmm.. Yes, he should reply. He shook any thoughts that were still lingering in his head and looked back at her. "Well, what's wrong with just hanging out with an old friend?" He asked. It was a long shot, that he doubted would work. He knew Bella pretty well to think she probably had a comment that would shot it down. He liked that about her.. It was just so...He shook his head to himself. Concentrate Rod.

Bellatrix stood there in a paused daze almost. She hated waiting on him.. For she knew his game. Too well she had to admit. He would stall, in order to make her stay. Yes, that was it. She had just thought about it only seconds ago! Somehow, she played the game quite well, considering she always did give him just enough time to speak the second time around. Though, that was always a mistake in her case. He'd always get too attached and expect her to stay longer. So it seemed that way to Bella anyway. Ever since the last break up, Bella had sworn to herself that it wouldn't happen again.. And she was going to keep that. She never made promises that she didn't intend to keep.. Especially when it was for her own self.
Finally his voice ringing through her idled ears, she brought her vision to a clearer view. Though, she figured his question/statement was nothing more than a mere reason to have him stick to her side. Or perhaps give him another chance to get her back. But, it wasn't going to work.. She was a stubborn girl, she was. Oh yes, and not an easily fooled one either. She used these qualities very often as well.. Especially when she was around Rodolphus. His occasional charm and looks did get to her at times, but it wasn't more than a mere shrug could fix. It was the same with most boys who tried to get her to lay in their lap and get to stroke her hair in a seductive way, while she gazed into their hungry eyes. She found that a stupid thing though.. For it was just lust that they longed for.. Nothing special. And nothing more than if anything were to happen, she would have forgotten about it the next morning, if not before such times.
"Hang out?" Bellatrix questioned, even though she knew exactly what it meant. She rolled her eyes and gave a light laugh. "Yea.. I don't think so. There may not be anything wrong with it.. Though, I just can't find the reason to do such things.. Especially with you," She said, "But, you say old as well? You're just digging yourself into an even deeper hole there Lestrange." Again, she knew what he had meant, instead of the way it sounded.. He wasn't calling her old at all.. But, it was a situation like when life gave you lemons. Only with this, it was.. When life gives you words.. Run with them. In which was what Bella did any chance she got. Almost anything, she could flip it completely upside-down, and to the right.. Only to confuse the other person in the end, when she finally did put it back together the way it had been intended.
It was then when she took the chance to turn back around, and face the direction in which she had originally been headed. Of course, knowing Rodolphus he would probably try to get her to stay in some form or fashion.. But, that was almost to be expected. It happened nearly each and every time she met Rodolphus somewhere. And it was almost stupid to even attempt to walk away from him in the first place. She sometimes found it easier to just stay and listen sometimes.. But, she found it necessary to leave now. She was finished speaking, and that was that. True, he would probably follow, but that didn't mean that she would say anything. Then again.. If he pushed enough, he might get a yell in the face or something.. But that was probably about all he would get...
