Sitting on the edge of the lake with a book in her lap, Cecily didn't seem bothered by the chilly breeze. She barely even noticed. She was pretending to study when, in all honestly, was distracted. There was a face in her mind. A face, a voice, a smile. Everything she knew about Sirius Black was all she could think of and she couldn't figure out why.
Ok that wasn't honest in the least. She knew why.
She liked Sirius. More than she'd ever liked anyone. She enjoyed the moments of time they spent together, even if there hadnt been many, and as stated he was stuck in her thoughts.
Closing the book and putting one arm under her head, Cecily stretched out on the grass, staring at the sky.

Shaia was exploring. The grounds of Hogwarts were very different from those of her old school, and she was curious by nature. She hadn't yet acclimatised to the whole wizard's robes situation either, they weren't required at the more avante-garde wizarding school she had attending in the good ol' US of A. Thus, Shaia was wearing a pair of black jeans and a gold silk blouse, as well as plenty of dangly gold jewellry. She knew that over here the whole muggle-wizard situation was little more exagerrated, but she had never really been affected by it all. She had muggle friends and wizard friends after all, and her parents were muggles as well.
Shaia was so lost in thought that she almost tripped over the girl lying in the grass. She blushed bright red. "I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there! Pardon my clumsiness!"

Sirius had seen Lee sitting alone from the Common Room window, and decided to join her as an excuse to not finish his Potions' essay. He walked towards the grounds and halfway towards Lee, saw a girl almost tripping over Lee's lying figure.
A laugh burst from his mouth, and he walked over to check if both girls were alright. Well, his concern was Lee, but he liked playing the gentleman.
"Are you alright?" He asked, offering Lee a hand to pull her up.

Cecily grinned at both people, her grin widening when she saw Sirius. She took his hand in hers and held it for a moment after she stood. Her way of thanking him for his concern. Brushing dirt and bits of grass off of her clothes and picking a few leaves out of her hair, Cecily nodded.
"I'm fine. No one was hurt. Atleast, I wasnt." She turned her eyes to the girl and tilted her head slightly. "Are you ok?"

Sirius nodded and smiled at her answer. "Good."
Inside, he felt the familiar giddyness swell up, and grinned to himself. Sirius had the urge to just laugh from how happy he was, but somehow managed to keep it inside of him.
"I'm Sirius. Sirius Black." He said to the other girl, trying to keep his mind intact. "Gryffindor 5th year." He grinned.

Shaia shook herself off, smiling in embarassment, and dusting her jeans off. She was going through that clumsy stage, and wasn't completely sure of where all her limbs were.
"I'm fine, are you sure I didn't hurt you? I should have been paying more attention! Sometimes I don't know where my head gets to."
She turned to the boy who had introduced himself.
"My name is Shaia, Shaia Karra. I'm fourth-year transfer from America. I believe that I have been sorted to Ravenclaw."

Sirius did a slight bow and smiled. "Pleasure to meet you." Oddly enough, he hadn't picked up the lady's hand and kissed.
He straightened up, and grinned. "So, is America much different than Britain?" He asked.

"Pleasure to meet you."
"Likewise, I'm sure."
Shaia nodded in the boy's direction. He was rather polite, not something she was used to, at least not at her American school. Still, years of fine breeding and training had taught Shaia how to behave in a setting where formal manners were observed. She was glad that her parents were upper-class as far as mnuggles were concerned, otherwise she would be completely left in the dark. Still, she was sure that there were plenty of facets of Great Britain wizarding culture that she was completely unfamiliar with.
"So, is America much different than Britain?"
She thought about that question carefully, for there were a lot of factors that made it hard to interpret. In the muggle world it was completely different, a level of foreigness that few would immagine, but she wasn't overly familiar with the wizarding world on this side of the ocean yet, having very little exposure beneathe her belt. Well, at least she could compare the two schools fairly accurately. They were VERY different after all.
"I'm not sure about the rest of the wizarding scene, but the schools are completely different. At my school in the USA, we mostly wore muggle clothing, none of this school-uniform robe stuff, it kinda freaks me out actually. In fact, we even had a few muggles on staff at my old school. Perhaps they're a little more open-minded on the other side of the ocean."
She shrugged. Socio-political climates weren't her strong point. She was a young female, there was only so much observation she could make from her position of a spoiled, privileged background in an accepting cross-cultured household.
